An Endoscopic Brow Lift

Endoscopic comes from endoscope meaning is medicine an instrument which can be introduced into the body to view its internal parts.

Endoscopic brow lifts use a less invasive technique than traditional brow lifts to create a more youthful appearance, endoscopic brow lifts use endoscopes to guide the surgeon's movements, allowing for smaller incisions and faster healing.

For those who want more than Thermage (in ancient Greece and Rome) hot baths used for public bathing) or Botox can offer but aren’t ready for the serious slicing that comes with a full brow lift, an endoscopic brow lift might be an attractive option. In this procedure, the surgeon makes four to six tiny incisions in the scalp, then slips a stainless-steel viewing probe under the skin that allows him or her to pull sagging areas taut and snip the muscles that cause frown lines (but not the muscles that cause horizontal forehead lines); this is a less in vasive approach than the conventional brow lift. Although the forehead skin can be lifted somewhat, no excess skin is removed as in a traditional brow lift. The recovery time and postoperative numbness is generally far less with the endoscopic procedure. However, the endoscopic lift tends to be less pronounced, and the results are not nearly as long lasting as with a traditional brow lift. Another potential drawback is that a less experienced surgeon might snip some of the forehead muscles unevenly, resulting in an asymmetrical appearance that could require corrective Botox.
